Vaporizing Vs Smoking – Are They Dangerous?
A vaporizer is a small, battery powered electronic cigarette that uses an electrical vapour charger to mimic the act of smoking. It usually consists of a glass tank, a base unit such as a cap or cartridge, an atomiser and a microchip or LED screen. Rather than tobacco, an individual breathes in vapour instead. As such, using a vaporizer is generally referred to as “vaping”.
The vapour charger can be used to start up the device and get it running. The vaporiser then gets hotter the liquids so that it could be breathed in by an individual. The vapour then travels through the lungs into the blood stream where it could be exhaled. Many vapers believe this is the safest way of smoking as there is absolutely no ash or nicotine to analyse or remove from the lungs. The only byproduct of Vaping is some chemicals which are released into the air. They are usually harmless, but they can be irritating to people with respiratory problems.
Many manufacturers create a selection of Vape products. Some work with a traditional, brominated matchstick style; others have a button that may be pressed to turn on the device, switch over to an awesome setting (intended for those people who are still slightly nervous about trying Vaping) and adjust the airflow. There are various shapes and designs, ranging from the traditional “bulldog” Juul Compatible Pods shape to the “retroflex” shape. Most are battery operated, although some are mains powered. Because of this you need to have a power outlet close by to operate a Vape.
There exists a perception among some that Vaping will not protect the lungs from the same exposure to harmful chemicals within cigarettes. To test this theory a survey was conducted by researchers at the University of Buffalo. An example of 200 smokers were asked if they would be pretty much likely to smoke should they owned a Vape. Only half of the group noticed a substantial reduction in how much they smoked. It seems that the chemicals inhaled by the Vape user are absorbed in to the lungs and may be doing harm to the cells of the lungs. This is probably why Vaping has been seen as an alternative solution to smoking.
Another reason some claim that Vaping is dangerous to the lungs is because Vaping does not remove all of the smoke from the lungs. When working with a normal, brominated matchstick Vape you will notice that the smoke will not completely escape. It is because the matchstick is held in the mouth for a period. The surplus smoke that gets exhaled out is expelled through the mouthpiece. On the other hand, by using an E-Cigarette the excess smoke is inhaled immediately and almost completely bypasses the lungs. The E-Cigarette simply eliminates the smoke.
So, could it be safe to inhale vapor containing harmful chemicals when using E-Cigs? This is largely unproven as well. The easiest way to know whether Vaporizing is harmful to the lungs would be to simply ask others who use them. You may notice that most of the people who use these devices have not noticed any ill effects; it might simply be that they are a sensitive bunch.
So in conclusion, while both smoking and E-Cigarette use carry similar health threats, there is one major difference between your two. Nicotine in cigarettes is a lot more addictive than vaporizing. Also, it appears that E-Cigarettes do not increase the risks of cancer like the liquids do. However, in general Vaporizing seems to be a wholesome alternative.
The fact is that both smoking and E-Cigarette use carry risks that aren’t present with vaporizing. The crucial thing to bear in mind is that vaporizing is merely a safer alternative. A lot of the toxins found in cigarettes may damage the developing brains of children. Since vaporizing does not have any such damaging components, it appears to be a far better choice for everybody.
